State of Georgia Lemon Law
The Georgia Lemon Law will help consumers who have just bought or leased a new vehicle that does not conform to warranty standards to rectify a potentially costly situation. The Georgia Governor’s Office of Consumer Protection will work with consumers to rectify any legitimate violations of the Georgia Lemon Law.
State Covers
New Vehicles – New vehicles are covered for up to two years from the date of purchase or for up to twenty four thousand miles (whichever comes first). It must be a new car, new truck under ten thousand pounds, or the motor vehicle part of a new RV.
Used Vehicles – No Law.
Pets – No Law.
The Georgia Lemon Law provides a legal ground for consumers’ to seek arbitration or even pursue a civil suit if they have been treated unscrupulously when purchasing a new vehicle.
