Delaware Pet Lemon Law

Requirements
The pet owner must have a veterinarian document:

• an illness within twenty days of the date of sale
• a congenital or birth defect within 2 years of the date of sale

Rights
The pet owner is entitled to:

• obtaining the equivelent of the purchase price and returning the pet
• obtaining the equivelent of the purchase price and keeping the pet
• obatining the cost of medical care and medication

Limits
The reimbursed amount for medical care or medication may not exceed the purchase price.
