State of Arkansas Lemon Laws
The Arkansas Lemon Laws enforce the warranty condition of both new and (in some cases) used vehicles as a matter of law. The Arkansas Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division will act as an arbiter for new vehicles and certain used vehicle lemon law disputes if it receives a valid consumer complaint.
State Covers
New Vehicles – The Arkansas Lemon Laws will protect passenger vehicles and the self-propelled area of motor homes during a ‘Quality Assurance’ period. Consumers may rely on the Arkansas Lemon Laws as a legal basis to insist that a serious warranty nonconformity be repaired by the manufacturer.
Used Vehicles – The Arkansas Lemon Laws do not specifically mention or actively protect used vehicles however they may apply if the used vehicle was purchased within the Quality Assurance period and exhibits serious performance issues due to a warranty nonconformity during this protection period.
Pets – The Arkansas Lemon Laws for Pets deal specifically with dogs. Dog owners may be assured that if they have purchased a canine with serious health issues (without being told of the condition) then they may expect a certain amount in compensation.
